I’m a big fan of snail mail delivery and what fun it is to find something in your mailbox besides a pile of bills, these days. With this illustration, I hoped to capture the sense of excitement one feels when discovering the gift of a personal letter from a friend in your mailbox. I wanted to convey the feeling of intimacy and connection that’s part of the charm of a handwritten letter but is absent in texts and e-mails.
