I was first introduced to Hobbits as a young reader when my elder brother gave me a copy of Tolkien’s book, The Hobbit, for my birthday. I was immediately swept up in the imagery and idyllic setting of The Shire and have remained a steadfast fan, ever since. What began as a lighthearted doodle in my sketchbook has become one of my favourite art card designs. One little hobbit hole led to another and so on, until an inviting collection of cosy homes emerged on the page, all nestled into a gently rolling hillside along a country lane.
