Known by many names, the dandelion is a much misunderstood plant that is among the first to appear in the spring and is a favourite meal for early pollinators. Considered a weed by many for its ability to flourish in the harshest of conditions, the presence of this bright yellow flower is believed to restore the health of the soil it’s growing in. The leaves and flowers of new growth are also edible and rich in nutrients. 

Perhaps, upon closer inspection, the common dandelion is anything but that.
